Pointers:

Markets open higher than yesterday’s closing point.
Stock Market was mostly up but fell below that point after 9:50 am and where there till around 12:40 pm.
Stocks rose after that and Nifty 50 closed in green.
Oil & Gas and PSU Bank stocks fell the most. Private Banks and IT stocks gained the most.
US and EU market was in green. All other Asian markets closed in red.

Stocks in News:

Government has increased the windfall tax on crude oil from Rs. 4,900/tonne to Rs. 6,800/tonne.
India’s service PMI rose to 61.2 in March 2024 from 60.6 in Feb 2024.
Ultratech: Completed 100 MW solar project in Rajasthan to power its units in different states.
Vedanta: will raise Rs 2,500 cr through debt.
KEC International: Got multiple orders worth Rs. 816 Crore.
Union Bank: raised around Rs. 4,200 Cr to expand its operations outside India.
Power Finance: paid its highest ever dividend of Rs. 2,033 Cr to the government for the Financial Year 2024.
Brigade Enterprises: will build a Rs. 340 Cr office space in Bengaluru.
Hero Moto: received a tax notice of Rs. 605 Cr. from the Income Tax Department.
